Skylight
Bring the sky inside.
The skylight is architecture’s purest expression of the relationship between interior and sky. It floods spaces with natural light, establishes a rhythm with the sun, and in its operable forms, breathes with the building. Vermat Skylight Systems encompass a complete range of rooflight typologies — from fixed flush-glazed units that disappear into the roofline, to automated ventilating skylights that respond to climate and occupancy, to dramatic structural glazing that transforms atriums into luminous cathedrals. Each system is engineered to the same rigorous standards of weather tightness, thermal efficiency, and structural integrity that define every Vermat product, while offering the design freedom to shape light precisely as the architecture demands.
Beyond the individual unit, Vermat skylights are conceived as part of an integrated building strategy — working in concert with façades, shading systems, and building automation to optimize daylight autonomy, reduce artificial lighting loads, and balance solar gain. By bringing natural light deeper into the floor plate, they support occupant well-being, enhance circadian rhythms, and contribute to certifications such as WELL, LEED, and BREEAM. From early-stage daylight simulation to BIM-coordinated installation and lifelong maintenance, Vermat delivers skylights not as isolated openings, but as essential components of a high-performance, human-centered envelope.

Intelligent Openings — Architecture That Breathes
From electric skylights and automatic sunrooms to lifting windows, Vermat’s intelligent opening systems dissolve the boundary between inside and out — automating light, air, and space with precision engineering and effortless control.

Electric Skylight
Intelligent skylights that open, close, and tilt on demand — bringing daylight and natural ventilation under automated, sensor-driven control.

Automatic Sunroom
Transformable glass rooms with retractable roofs and walls, shifting seamlessly from enclosed comfort to open-air living at the touch of a button.

Lifting Windows
Vertical lifting glass windows that retract into the structure, creating wide, unobstructed openings for effortless indoor-outdoor connection.
Performance
Engineered for the harshest skies.
From Class 9A water tightness and U-values as low as 0.9 W/(㎡·K) to Rw 45 dB acoustic insulation, 2000 Pa wind resistance, and 20,000-cycle drive endurance — every Vermat skylight is engineered to perform flawlessly through decades of weather, load, and use.
Weather Tightness
All Vermat skylights are tested to the highest European standards — water tightness up to Class 9A (EN 12208) and air permeability Class 4 (EN 12207). Multi-lip EPDM gaskets, thermal welded corners, and integral drainage channels ensure dry interiors even in driving rain conditions.
Thermal Insulation
Multi-chamber polyamide thermal breaks, warm-edge glass spacers, and optional triple glazing achieve U-values as low as 0.9 W/(㎡·K) for the total unit. This reduces heating loads, prevents condensation, and supports passive house or net-zero energy targets.
Acoustic Performance
With laminated and asymmetric glass configurations, Vermat skylights achieve sound reduction up to Rw 45 dB, creating tranquil interiors beneath busy flight paths, urban traffic, or industrial environments.
Structural Integrity & Load Resistance
Frames are engineered to withstand snow loads, wind pressures up to 2000 Pa (Class C5), and pedestrian live loads for walk-on units. Finite element analysis validates every profile and connection before fabrication, ensuring decades of deflection-free performance.
Fire Safety
For smoke and heat exhaust applications, Vermat SHEV units are certified to EN 12101-2 with tested aerodynamic free area and reliability classifications. Fire-rated glass and framing options provide EI30–EI120 integrity for compartmentation where required.
Durability & Drive Cycles
Electric opening mechanisms are tested to over 20,000 cycles, with soft-start and soft-stop controls, obstacle detection, and IP65-rated external drive components. Frame finishes are salt-spray tested to ISO 9227 for coastal and industrial environments.
Design Freedom & Customization
Flat, pitched, barrel vault, pyramid, polygon, and free-form geometries are all within Vermat’s fabrication capability. Units can be installed individually, in linear ridges, or as clustered atrium arrays with synchronized drives.
Choose from clear, low-iron, tinted, Low-E, laminated safety, fire-rated, and switchable PDLC glass. Optional integrated blinds, fritted patterns, or digital ceramic printing provide solar control, privacy, and aesthetic signature without additional framing.
Anodized aluminium, powder-coated RAL colours, and PVD stainless steel finishes ensure the skylight frame coordinates with surrounding architectural metalwork, while concealed fixings preserve clean sightlines.
Native support for KNX, DALI-2, BACnet, and dry contact inputs allows skylights to be controlled individually or in groups through a central BMS or mobile application. Occupancy and daylight sensors enable automated dimming or ventilation scenes, while fire alarm integration triggers emergency smoke exhaust.
